Job Summary
The Finance and Accounting Associate will perform accounting-related duties and work closely with the Controller, Vice President of Business Intelligence, Executive Team, as well as the Accounting Team, to achieve organizational goals. All other duties as assigned.

What You'll Do:
• Assist with financial systems transformation migration including implementation tasks related to general ledger, accounts payable, business intelligence, reporting and planning (ProfitSword), and payroll systems.
• Assist with financial statement analysis and preparation, monthly balance sheet reconciliation, accounts payable processing, daily revenue and cash reconciliations and other related finance projects.
• Create and document finance and accounting standards manuals and training materials.
• Support the month-end closing processes.
• Perform data entry and maintain accurate financial records.
• Assist with bank statement reconciliation and assist with key account reconciliations.
• Help process invoices, expense reports, and payments.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Participate in ad hoc projects and reporting tasks, as needed
• Support daily review of all revenues (hotel, food and beverage, and other revenue departments as applicable) and understand post in the general ledger.
• Review of applicable financial reports for completeness and accuracy.
• Support Weekly accounts payable invoice, payment processing and review.
• Assist the Controller and Business Intelligence Teams in evaluation of reports, decisions, and departmental results in relation to established goals.
• Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the company, accounting department and services performed.
• Maintain accounting records and compile reports.
• General ledger maintenance and reconciliations.
• Preparation of accurate and timely monthly financial statements
• Applicable state and local operational tax filings.
• Support and assist the processing of biweekly, multi-state payroll with payroll partner including balance and reconciling all payroll figures on an as needed basis.
• Assist and support the off-cycle processing and pay card activities. Assist and support the Controller with annual operational budgets and forecasts to provide support as needed to general manager, department heads, and executive team members.
• Assist the Controller with distributing all financial statements and month end reports to ownership, executive team, and department heads.
• Assist the Controller and ownership with year-end tax filings.
• Train and assist with coordination of accounting processes.
• Assist with ad-hoc projects as assigned by corporate controller, executive team, or ownership.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or accounting preferred.
• Experience with Excel and Microsoft Office Suite tools.
• Strong interpersonal skills, problem solving and planning skills.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and internal controls.
• Self-starter with proficient time management skills and ability to work independently and as a team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated adaptability to change.
• Ability to attend work and meetings with excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to maintain strict adherence to confidentiality requirements.
